Crisis in the Congregation

Yes, the 21st century is now here, and along with it, the pressures and stresses of life have grown immeasurably as well. Marriages are pummeled on every side; the divorce count is rising; we see an increase in the number of victims of sexual and physical abuse.

Paul was describing our day when he said, "There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." 2 Timothy 3:1-4

Pastors are inundated with requests for counseling. What is the Church's solution? Should we send them to secular sources for "professional" help? Open Arms Internet Ministry believes that the solution is to train lay people in the church to learn how to apply the Bible to their own and other people's problems. And that is precisely what we have to offer.

What is BIBLE Counseling?

We believe that the Bible holds the answers to mankind's mental and emotional, as well as spiritual, well-being. However, many Christians today are lacking the skills to find these answers for themselves and to apply them to their own lives. Learning doctrine is more than just an intellectual pursuit for a select few, for it colors our day-to-day living.

Our seminar is geared towards helping both ministers and lay people learn how to apply scripture, not only to their own lives, but also to the lives of fellow Christians. The BIBLE Counseling Seminar is a two-day seminar that will change your life! God has given you everything you need in the Bible and we will help you find out how to apply this tool to your life.

BIBLE Certification

This two-day seminar is intended to be a training course for those interested in obtaining their BIBLE (Basic Insights for Biblical Living Everyday) counseling certification. This certificate will indicate that not only have you participated in the BIBLE certification training, but that you have also passed the certification test and provided documentation that you have a good grasp of the skills covered in the training. The seminar is also open to those who are interested in learning these concepts for their own benefit.
