Statement of Practice

By signing this below, I verify that I have learned my method of teaching from Open Arms Internet Ministry and that I adhere to the following beliefs:

• Psychology is a man-made way of dealing with problems and is devoid of God's wisdom.
• Psychology and biblical counseling cannot be integrated in any way.
• Since people were created for the very purpose of being in relationship with God, the root of all emotional and mental problems, except those that are actually physical (not the fallacious "chemical imbalance"), are found in our beliefs about who God really is. If we do not believe in God as He is revealed in the Bible, we will have problems mentally and emotionally.
• True biblical counseling is actually discipling a person by helping them to apply biblical truths to their lives in a way that will bring them closer in their relationship with the God of the Bible. The beliefs about who God really is must be changed, and then the Holy Spirit will bring about changes in a person's behavior.
• I will daily practice applying these biblical truths to my own life and my own problems.

If, in the future, I alter my beliefs in any way from this Statement of Practice, I will inform Open Arms Internet Ministry so they can remove my name from the active certification list.
