(22)And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever. (23)So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. (24)After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life." We noticed earlier that Adam and Eve attempted to cover their nakedness with fig leaves. This was symbolical of them attempting to cover their own sins through their own works. ASSIGNMENT 4c3: Considering this information, what is the significance of verse 21 shown above? Please write a short summary explaining your answer. Remember, try your best to answer the questions on your own. After giving it your best try, you can contact us for further guidance if you are still stuck on a point. Submit your assignment to oamoam@hotmail.com and put Lesson 4c3 in the subject line. We covered verse 22 earlier, but we did not touch on the significance in the last statement in that verse that says, "He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." Remember that God said they could eat of any tree in the garden with the exception of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This meant they could have partaken of the tree of life and have lived forever. ASSIGNMENT 4c4: Why would the tree of life be made available when they were first created, and why would they now not be allowed to take of the tree of life? One more noteworthy thing to observe in that last statement is that man was created to live forever just as they were created in the beginning. Please write a short summary explaining your answer. Remember, try your best to answer the questions on your own. After giving it your best try, you can contact us for further guidance if you are still stuck on a point. Submit your assignment to oamoam@hotmail.com and put Lesson 4c4 in the subject line. In verse 23, we see that God banished them from the Garden of Eden, from the very dust from which they were created. We also see in verse 24 that God did not banish them from the tree of life but sent a cherubim to guard the way. You may submit all of the above assignments in one e-mail, if you choose to do so, but make sure to label clearly each assignment with the appropriate numbers.
